Math-based Torque Converter Modelling to Evaluate Damping Characteristics and Reverse Flow Mode Operation

چکیده

This paper presents math-based torque converter modelling and simulation in both forward flow mode and reverse flow mode operations. Since, a torque converter plays an important role in transferring power from an engine shaft to the transmission shaft and vice versa and affects the fuel consumption and vehicle longitudinal dynamics, simulating the dynamic behaviour of this component in different operating modes is of great importance. Our torque converter model is validated with the experimental results of the Honda CRV during the forward flow mode operation.

Modeling Torque Converter Characteristics in Automatic Drivelines: Lock-up Clutch and Engine Braking Simulation

A torque converter, which is a hydrodynamic clutch in automatic transmissions, transmits power from the engine shaft to the transmission shaft either by dynamically multiplying the engine torque or by rigidly coupling the engine and transmission shafts. The torque converter is a critical element in the automatic driveline, and it affects the vehicle’s fuel consumption and longitudinal dynamics....

Analysis of New Transformerless dc-dc Converter With High Voltage Gain

In some industries applications such as fuel cells, we must use a high voltage gain dc-dc converters for increasing voltage, but, the conventional converters cannot provide the high voltage gain with increasing duty cycle and the converters efficiency is limited by the equivalent series resistances. For this reason, in this paper, a single switch transformerless high step-up dc-dc converter wit...

Low Frequency Oscillations Suppression via CPSO based Damping Controller

In this paper, the Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is enhanced with a Chaotic Particle Swarm Optimization (CPSO) Damping Controller in order to mitigate the Low Frequency Oscillations (LFO) in a Single Machine Infinite Bus (SMIB) power system. The designed damping controller is an optimized lead-lag controller, which extracts the speed deviation of the generator rotor and generates the out...

Design and Numerical Simulations of a Flow Induced Vibration Energy Converter for Underwater Mooring Platforms

Limited battery energy restricts the duration of the underwater operation of underwater mooring platforms (UMPs). In this paper, a flow-induced vibration energy converter (FIVEC) is designed to produce power for the UMPs and extend their operational time. The FIVEC is equipped with a thin plate to capture the kinetic energy in the vortices shed from the surface of the UMP. A magnetic coupling (...
